Two years ago Leith & Michelle opened a skate shop, that specalized in sharpening figure and hockey skates. Leith also did repairs, blade mounting, contouring etc. Our customers were constantly asking if we would consider carrying figure skates and dresses. We were invited to the Figure Skating Competions so we proceeded with ordering a few dresses, tights and some accessories to take with us. Leith brought his portable skate sharpener and people were lining up all day. His reputation as a skateologist had preceded him. We sold at least half of the inventory we brought with us. It was from these competitions that Michelle realized the need for something like this on the Island.

So the story begins, a summer of solid sweat and tears, and from what people are saying we have the "best figure skate dress selection in the Maritimes". Customers are already coming across the bridge instead of the figure skaters going to Moncton for their skates. Some were even putting their skates on the bus to send to Moncton for sharpening. Leith and I both come from a background in customer service and we pride oursleves on doing anything it takes to get it right. We are already thinking of expanding next year to bring in hockey equipment for girls hockey. They too are having to go all over the place to find things to fit, we want to make it one stop shopping for them as well.
